Carriage Roads in the Winter

These are car free roads in Acadia National Park, and include 17 gorgeous stone bridges. In the spring and summer, people ride bikes, horses or walk these roads. In the winter months, they are maintained for cross country skiing and snow shoeing. They were originally constructed on the private property of John D. Rockefeller Jr. and later donated to the park.

I get to cross country ski while Richard pulls Samson in the sled. In the top photo, Samson wanted to look like he was falling out of his sled after a wild ride!
